Urban Decay NAKED Nail Polish Set

I recently purchased the UD Naked nail polish set when I seen this gem on the Sephora website. And as a nail polish I have no regrets. This isn't a set to buy to do professional nails but it is a fun set to own if you wanna match your Naked eye makeup to your nails.

The Urban Decay Naked Nail polish set comes with 6 fabulous colors that represent similar shades found in the first UD Naked Palette. The nail polish surprisingly looks ALOT like the palette color and I'm pretty impressed with the overall quality and color match to the actual Naked palette.

The nail polish shades featured include:
  • Naked
  • Sidecar
  • Smog
  • Toasted
  • Hustle
  • Creep

Overall I really like this set. Like I said, it isn't for pros but it's perfect for any nail polish lover like myself.

Below are some swatches just in case you decide to purchase a set for yourself! Plus some additional photos of how they compare to the Naked palette!!

(From L to R: Naked, Sidecar, Smog, Toasted, Hustle, Creep)

I'm sorry this has become a nail polish blog rather than a instructional nail polish blog.

I will be redoing the layout and try to add more do it yourself posts! :)

Nails inc. Magnetic Nail Polish

Tonight I was looking to finally do my nails and decided upon my lovely magnetic nail polish. I completely forgot that I had this gem stashed...and believe it or not had not even been used yet. I know I have another review about the gray color but lets see some of the purple variety. My Nails inc. polish came from Sephora and cost a pretty penny, about $15 bucks to be exact. However despite the price I can say this is the best magnetic polish I've used to date. Most other magnetic nail polish is made so cheaply and leave my nails with a tacky finish but Nails inc. leaves me with a flawless finish that's perfect for my perfectionist qualities. Definitely worth the splurge. This blog shows pictures of the color "House of Parliament", a beautiful purple sheen with a gorgeous shine...no top coat even needed! Enjoy the photos of my late night manicure!!

Pros:

  • Unique
  • Unusual appearance
  • Minimal nail art skills needed

Cons:
  • There are minimal instructions...the woman at Sephora told me how to apply the polish. Which requires a base coat, LIGHT first coat of the magnet polish until dry, then a heavy coat of the magnet polish and immediate covering of the nail with the magnet for 15 seconds, and lastly a top coat.

Thanks for visiting!

Caviar for the Nails

Aloha All!!

Been taking a break from the blog due to my health, homework, and the biggest pain in my butt...school. However I recently heard about this new manicure technique that I assure you will take over the nails of every gal in town.

As many of you may have heard, shatter nail polish is a dying trend that is still cool to me but not really to others. Don't fret cause there's a new trend. It's called Caviar manicure that involves the normal painting of your nails with regular nail polish. Although beads are added to create a 3d effect that is quite unique and stylish.

The video below explains the process...even though it only lasts like 2 days...it's still cute...

The Caviar Manicure nail sets are available through Sephora for a staggering $25. Personally, I rather create a DIY technique through buying the beads from Ben Franklin....we shall see :)

Nail Inc. Magnetic Polish Review

Another day...another nail polish review.

So recently I caved and brought the Nail inc. Magnetic polish from Sephora. I couldn't help myself...I was shopping alone and no one was there to stop me! ;)

Back to product...I purchased the Nail inc. polish in the color 'Trafalgar Square' for a wallet hurting $16. I was hoping my local Sephora wasn't gonna carry the polish or that they were sold out...but NO they had it, so I had to try one.

The packaging comes with an extra cap that has the magnet on top...with a special indent on the cap as a locator to where to place your nail when using the magnet...As shown in the above picture.

Steps:

1. One coat of a base nail polish...Obviously
2. Apply one LIGHT coat of the magnetic nail polish
3. Let the first coat completely dry then apply another coat
4. From there immediately hover the magnet over the nail for 10 to 15 seconds
5. Lastly apply a top coat!

Pros:
  • Unique --- I personally never heard of or tries magnetic nail polish, so the concept is what drew me into the purchase
  • Perfect for any nail polish lover
  • Cool effect that is hard to replicate
  • Fun to use :)

Cons:
  • Obviously this product is pricy --- So I wouldn't go nuts and buy more than one
  • Tricky to use --- Takes getting used to hurrying the application and holding the magnet at the right angle
